My known roots are in Stewart, Terrell and Muscogee counties in Georgia and Williamsburg County in South Carolina. My closest known ancestors were either born in and/or lived in these counties.
Of course I know my earliest ancestors hail from the west coast of the continent of Africa, and most likely traveled to the Caribbean during the slave trade before making it to the shores of America. These ancestors are a little harder to find, considering. Over the years as I dug deeper in my research and found more ancestors through records, I realized that several came from the State of Virginia and Mississippi as well.
As I connect these dots, I will write more about it, but for now, my Locations list will concentrate on what I do know to be true and recorded.
In addition, I also research my husband’s family tree. For the most part, he has deep Virginia roots, so I will include those locations and others where his family comes from here as well.
